  1. 1999 Bronco U260

In 1999, a group of Ford employees put their passion for the Bronco to work with their U260 design. The goal was to bring back the rugged Bronco everyone knew and loved. Ford executives seemed to be all for the production of this new Bronco, until other vehicles called for more attention and the U260 faded into the background.

  1. 1955 Futura Concept Car

1955 saw the Futura concept car. This car was the first-ever Ford to feature a pearlescent paint job. Ford was one of the first to showcase a car with this new sheen, which was created by adding crushed pearls to the paint. This car would go on to later serve as the model for the Batmobile.

Ford gained a whole new sheen in 1955 when the company coated the Futura concept car with pearlescent paint. Ford was among the first to show off this new paint technique, which consisted of adding crushed pearls to paint.

  1. 1967 Mustang Allegro II

The Mustang Allegro was a concept car derived from original Mustang concepts of 1962. Based off the Avanti/Allegro Fastback Coupe, some changes were made. These included the greenhouse being removed and replaced with a lowcut windshield, a roll bar, rear flying buttresses, and a new style to the rear.

In 1967, Ford designers decided to reprise one of the original Mustang design concepts from 1962 with a new form and repurposed name.  The reworked concept was dubbed Allegro II.

  1. 1970 Mustang Milano

The 1970s Mustang Milano looked nothing like its predecessor. Many claimed it looked more similar to the design of the Australian-market Falcon XB Coupe that would be seen later in the 70s. It featured a sloped roof, nearly horizontal rear deck and a sharp extended nose. The taillights also had an impressive feature: a 3-tier warning system. When the Milano would accelerate the lights would turn green, amber-yellow when coasting, and then red when braking.

First shown publicly at the February 1970 Chicago Auto Show, the Mustang Milano concept previewed the nearly horizontal rear deck and sharp, extended nose that would be seen on the production 1971 model.

  1. 1970 Bronco Wildflower

The Bronco Wildflower would have caught many eyes had it been produced. True to its time, it featured a “groovy” color palette and swirls of flowered designs. Even the seats featured a similar pattern.
